1. Gallaudet Scholarship of Learning and Teaching Initiative (GSLTI)

  • On May 16, 2014, Dr. Carol Erting sent Susanna an email stating that she was highly recommended to participate in the GSLTI project.

2. IRB Application in process (required to be completed before May, 2015)

  • During the summer of 2014, Kathleen Arnos provided feedback to Susanna's research proposal and forms for her GSTLI purposes (see IRB Application, Informed Consent, and Survey Questions). This was required to be completed before May 2015.

  • Completed CITI requirements (Belmont Report, Conflicts of Interest Curriculum).

 

3. Webinars attended

  • Jerri-Lyn Dormity's two webinars (English & Math): "Developmental Education Reform: How to Implement An Accelerated Course to Increase Retention"

  • National Center of Academic Transformation's (NCAT) Emporium Model: Developmental Math: http://youtu.be/dKLvyvi5MtM (private--not allowed to share this link with others)

 

4. Flipped Faculty Learning Community (FFLC)

  • Susanna joined the Flipped Faculty Learning Community (FFLC) to discuss different teaching approaches in class. This is part of Gallaudet Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Initiative (GSLTI). At the end of Spring 2014, Dr. Deborah Schooler asked Susanna to complete the report before April 15, 2014.

 

5. DSTM Technology Tools Workshop

  • Mark Phipps and Susanna delivered a presentation called "Technology Tools" on April 3, 2014. See the following link, Technology Tools, that Susanna created the handout for DSTM faculty members.
